Privacy Policy

All file conversions on ConvertSafe are performed entirely within your web browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third-party system. There is no server-side processing, no temporary storage, no queuing system, and no fallback to cloud-based conversion.

When you select or drop a file, your browser reads it into local memory, performs the conversion using client-side JavaScript, and generates the output file directly on your device. The original file and the converted output exist only in your browser's memory and are released when you close the tab or navigate away.

We do not open, view, read, analyze, index, scan, or extract any information from the files you convert. We have no access to your file contents because they never reach our servers. Your documents, spreadsheets, images, and data remain entirely private and under your control at all times.

ConvertSafe does not store, cache, back up, or retain any files in any form. Since files never leave your browser, there is nothing to store on our end. There are no "files deleted after 24 hours" policies because there are no files on our servers to begin with.

We use Umami, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics platform, to collect basic usage statistics such as page views and the types of conversions performed. This data is fully anonymized and aggregated -- it cannot be traced back to individual users.

Specifically, our analytics:

• Do not use cookies or browser fingerprinting
• Do not collect IP addresses or personal identifiers
• Do not track users across websites
• Do not access or analyze any file content
• Are fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring cookie consent

ConvertSafe does not set any cookies. We use browser localStorage solely to store your theme preference (light/dark mode) and a device-local conversion counter. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any server.

We do not sell, rent, trade, license, or share any user data, usage data, or file information with any third party. We do not participate in data broker networks, advertising exchanges, or cross-site tracking programs.

The only third-party service that receives any data from ConvertSafe is our analytics provider (Umami), which receives anonymized, aggregated page view statistics as described above.

ConvertSafe does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Since we do not collect personal information from any user, this applies universally. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately.

Because your files are processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted to our servers, there are no international data transfers of file content. Our anonymized analytics data is processed by Umami in accordance with their privacy policy.

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Since ConvertSafe does not collect or store personal data, there is no data to access, correct, or delete. You can clear your local theme preference and conversion counter at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

If we ever introduce server-side processing for specific file formats (for example, complex conversions that cannot be performed in the browser), we will:

• Clearly label which conversions use server processing
• Explain exactly how files are handled and when they are deleted
• Allow you to opt out and use browser-only conversions where available
• Update this policy before any such change takes effect
